Tarpaulin TARP for IBC tank
29.50 26.55
We strongly recommend you to buy a TARP tarpaulin, as it reduces the growth of micro-organisms in the water by as much as 95% - this is essential for clean, algae-free rainwater (in addition to filtration). The TARP tarpaulin also ensures a longer lifetime of the tank itself.
Description

Product information:
IBC tank, once used for transport diets or dietary supplements - most often plant extracts (e.g. rosehip extract).
Washed with hot water, no chemicals.

Warning.
When buying second-hand tanks from advertisements, make sure the tank is clean and has not been used to transport chemicals.

If the cistern is not clean, it is not suitable for watering the garden.

It certainly doesn't hurt to wash them again with water before use, this also applies to our used tanks and all new tanks, as there may be a few ml of water (condensation) in the water. In any standing water, micro-organisms can multiply after just a few days.

Repeatedly asked questions:

Why don't you always have them in stock?
Our core business is IBC tank additives. Occasionally, we have the opportunity to offer our customers excellent used (refurbished) FOODGRADE tankers. It can happen that there is no new stock for more than half a year - we do our best to make sure that this is not the case.

Do used tanks have a certificate?
No second-hand tanks have a certificate of re-fitment because there is no institution to check or certify this. And our FOODGRADE tanks have traceabilitywhich few second-hand tanks have.

Why do companies sell used tanks rather than return them if they are still usable?
In bigger cities, this works. Schutz has, for example, the Recobulk line (the frame is repaired if necessary and the tank balloon is replaced with a new one. Transport costs and other factors limit this option. Most often the value of the tank is included in the price of the raw material.

Do your used tanks have a smell?
Not in the 90% cases - or in HDPE plastic, just like new.
In 10% cases, e.g. after sweet (fructose) etc.

Are your used tanks also suitable for drinking water?
The short answer is no. Why? Standing water is a problem even in new tanks. If there are no added preservatives, UV sterilisation, etc., micro-organisms grow in it, which can be harmful to health if/ when there are too many of them. For drinking water, we recommend new tanks (not necessarily Food grade, even normal new tanks are clean, non-recycled HDPE, which is suitable for this purpose) and proper purification or preservation etc - this will ensure that No we are dealing with. Our tanks are used specifically for foodstuffs and are washed with hot water.

Is the water cleaner in a black tank?
We don't know because we can't see the dirt in it because of the black walls. Joking aside - micro-organisms and algae are definitely less proliferated. Also, the plastic of these tanks is more UV-resistant. However, the water in the tank heats up more, and even if the tank was cleaned well, we would not notice it, because it is not really visible. We prefer a normal (white) tank and a protective tarpaulin. This keeps the water cooler even if the tarpaulin is black, as the air acts as an insulator. We also usually have black tanks in stock.

What is the lifetime of a tank?
It could be 3 years, it could be 30 years. Depending on the quality of the tank, the external factors (sun, cold), the care it receives and, last but not least, your luck. Problems usually start with the valves first, there are no major problems with the balloon. The valves of IBC tanks are not designed to be opened and closed constantly, so we advise you to use kits Pipa+reducer, which you can find in our offer.

Do we need to drain the water from the cistern in winter?
Yes, it's best that way. And leave the valve (and tap) open.
If you leave water in the tank during the winter, make sure it is not completely full. Insulate the valve and tap (cover with warm cloth).

Is the metal frame stainless?
Yes, it is galvanised. So is the pallet if it is metal.

If you need a larger storage tank, you can connect two or more tanks to each other. Watch the video to see how.
